Thank You Calgary Glenmore

I am humbled to be have been chosen by the constituents of Calgary Glenmore to be their elected representative in the Legislature of Alberta.

This is a critical time in Alberta. This was one of the most significant elections in our history. Ultimately, Albertans and the citizens of Calgary Glenmore voted for a government committed to delivering on three critical priorities - job creation, a strong economy and standing up for our province.

The campaign was hard fought but resulted in a resounding mandate for positive change. To my fellow Calgary Glenmore candidates, I extend my thanks. Thank you for making the sacrifice to ensure that all voters had a choice. Thank you to every campaign team for working so hard to support your candidates and parties.

To my own campaign team and the incredible volunteers, donors and supporters – thank you! Your tireless efforts were truly inspiring and heartwarming. I am so proud of the campaign we ran - sharing the United Conservative message of getting hard-working Albertans back to good-paying jobs, restoring investor confidence in this great province to reignite our economy and getting the TransMountain pipeline approved and built.

To the residents of Calgary Glenmore, I will work relentlessly every day to advocate for you and all Albertans, regardless of your voting choice, to make Alberta the best place to live, work, start a business and raise a family.

Warmest regards,

Whitney

What are the issues?

Education

It wasn’t long ago that Alberta’s education system was the envy of the world. Our students would consistently rank among the top in global achievement in subjects like math and science. In recent years, however, our education system began to slip and some students were left behind.

Health Care

Alberta’s health care system is nearing a state of crisis. Health care spending has never been higher and yet, wait times continue to skyrocket. Despite the best efforts of our dedicated health professionals, the doctors, nurses, and health care aides, emergency departments are overcrowded, operating rooms are unavailable, and EMS response times are often dangerously high.

Economy

Alberta is the economic engine of the country, driving growth to create jobs, wealth, and prosperity. But in recent years, that engine has slowed right down. Four years after the great recession of 2014, Alberta is still struggling to find its feet. The resilience and optimism of the Alberta spirit can still be felt across the province, but under the crushing burden of government regulation and over taxation, that spirit is waning.

Energy, Oil & Gas

Albertans know that our energy sector has allowed our province to thrive for generations. While some have apologized for our ingenuity in resource extraction, Alberta’s United Conservatives are proud of the accomplishments of our energy sector and the hard-working men and women employed by it.
